The kidnapping and the new ship

After heading south back towards the free city. the group drops by the dear friend Mike's house. they try to convince him to come along and journey with them. he refuses. The group gets him rip roaring drunk and "kidnaps" him in the middle of the night. By the time he wakes up the group is almost to the city.

Once in the cityu Mike reveals that he has spent an enoumous amount of money on ship for the group. the ship is designed to allow the groups special carts easy access on and off the boat from a dock. as well as provide a floating bar and stage where up to 4 large vessels can moor up to it in the middle of the ocean for a drink and a show. <br>
The group has some items commissioned, gets a bunch of supplies. They also hire a captain and a bunch of whores for their new vessel. the new ship is called the Bloated Mermaid.

  1. Brother Zariff reflects:

Upon returning to our home town, we gather some supplies (including Wolfsbane) to survive the fight, put together some rough battle plans over dinner and venture down into the sewers.

Upon entry, we immediately encounter a pair of wererats. The group charges in to attack as they bow down to Brother Zariff. They inform him that he is their new leader because their old leader whom had bitten Zariff had died. They accept their fate as Brother Zariff takes them out coup de grace style thinking it is some sort of ploy to await re-enforcements.

As the dead wererats return to dwarven form, Brother Zariff is struck with the reality that his church apparently only delayed the disease from running its course and that the disease still flows within his veins, remaining dormant these past months awaiting my return.

In an instant it becomes clear that this was his god’s will, but Zariff is torn between anger and acceptance due to the faith’s mischievous nature as he realizes he was part of an elaborate ruse.

As Zariff thinks back about when he became afflicted and how it was the driving force that caused him to agree to dedicate his life to Loth Orlien and fully join the faith as a priest of Loth Orlien his acceptance fades and he is left with only anger.

In an effort to stab back at the high priest that misled him, Zariff orders all the wererats now under his control to destroy the church of Glamdrin in the name of Loth Orlien. Being a church of evil descent it is unlikely they will accept the attack without repercussions and although the mission will likely end badly for the wererats, it feels like vengeance to not only destroy the wererats, but also use their deaths to create a rift between the churches.

It is my hope that the high priest of Loth Orlien will be called upon to answer for his attack and pulled from a rank of power to suffer as I surely will as he no doubt sanctioned what was allowed to happen to me.
