The adventurers head north further into the Porlund plains. They encounter a small group of well armed Knights who great them warmly. They explain that they are part of a larger group sent out to defend the borders against orcs. The group tells them of their battle with orcs the previous day. The knights offer to hire them to help with their cause. The party agrees and heads back to their base camp. They enjoy a fun evening with the soldiers and are given their first orders in the morning to squash some orcs and rescue some hostages.
The adventurers infiltrate a group of 12 orcs with 20 slaves. They attack fiercely and overcome these green skinned creatures. Kim is able to heal all of the slaves and the group heads back to the camp. They are paid for their service and agree to come back someday and do some more work. They enjoy and evening of celbration with the heads of the 12 orcs displayed on pikes before the fire. The next morning the group heads further North.
They come upon an entrance into a cave. The door to enter turns into a living wall of some type. They gain entrance into this place only for the door to animate and walk away once the group is inside.
Its good to be fighting again, especially since I have got the back of my companions. we spent a bit planning to fight 3/1 odds and we were victorious. On top of that, we got paid. A reputation would be a nice addition, but maybe I should change my name; I wouldn't want anything I do to come back and haunt Tessa. I'm sure that gang is looking for revenge! I wonder how she is doing?
ReplyDeleteAlso, we found a treasure map on the Orcs; on the one that whistled. I know whistles are used by law enforcement and sometimes by commanding officers in armies, but Orcs?! We didn't notice anything that came from it. It's a good thing we took the whistle; maybe use it to ambush more Orcs. Their gear should fetch some good money to re-outfit our expedition. But we need way more loot for high quality gear.
When we approached the treasure "X" on the map, we almost lost Kim. A trap caused a sink hole (?) and almost swallowed her up. I leaped and grabbed her, plus Percy conjured a stony helping hand. This was a good moment and having Percy has been a blessing. Just every time I look at him, the pain of his brother's death is still fresh in my mind. I hope the God's give me a moment to claim peace before I grow old.
Lastly, Garridan has grown quite a big pair of balls to match his big mouth. He is growing up so fast and I admire his short, but quick style of fighting!! Then again he looks the same for the last few years that I have known him. He keeps saying he is 50 years old... maybe he is a halfling?! Better let him come out of the closet on his own on this one; don't want to disturb him considering his fighting game has been spot-on lately!
